How to effectively choose the right Ceramic Coating

How to effectively choose the right Ceramic Coating

There is an abundance of information out there about the various types of Ceramic Coatings on the market, what each does, and why one specific Ceramic Coating is the leading choice for many. We have created a series of tables to provide a full report on how long each Ceramic Coating and how each performs. This blog article will help you decide which Ceramic Coating is the right one for you and or your clients by explaining the differences between all of the Onyx Coating product options.

There are a few ways to decide which is the right Ceramic Coating for you or your client.

By choosing one or many of these qualities you end up choosing between the three product options below:

1. Durability

As there are three types of Ceramic Coatings within the Onyx Coating product line, you can choose the right one for you according to its durability. Depending upon how long you plan on keeping the car, whether it is new or if you are considering a new car in the next few years, one coating is a better fit for you than the other.

Durability  1 year  3 years 5 years  A lifetime A lifetime

If you aren’t sure and you wish to ensure that the exterior is protected from chemicals, UV rays, oxidation, scratches, etc for the next year the best option would be a Nano Shield Coating. It provides you with all the protection that the car will need as well as giving the car that deep glossy exterior.

If you are looking for a longer-lasting product, for example from 3-5 years, there are two products that can suit your needs: Quartz 9H or Quartz 9H Pro.

Lastly, if you are looking for a product that lasts a lifetime the prime choice would be the Onyx Coating Graphene Ceramic Coating.

2. Coating thickness

Each Ceramic Coating has a different thickness, the thicker the protection the more protected the exterior is. The Onyx Coating product range provides various choices according to the level of protection you are looking for.

3. Coating Hardness

The coating hardness refers to the level given to the coating once it has been cured then tested. It´s based on the pencil scale of hardness. All one needs to know is what the higher the level of hardness the more resistant a surface becomes after applying Ceramic Coating.

  1. Qualities of protection

Within the latter two ceramic coatings, Quartz Ceramic Coating and the Graphene Ceramic Coating, one can choose from either the regular or the pro. The main difference is that the pro generally lasts longer and creates a thicker barrier thereby providing extra protection and ensuring the exterior is impermeable. The Pro also provides protection against water, chemicals, scratches, and pollutants 100%, where as the other products tend to guarantee protection around 90%.

In the table below you can see that the best performing Ceramic Coating in relation to all of the qualities is the Graphene 10H & N1 Pro.

Product Nano Shield Coating Quartz 9H  Quartz 9H PRO Graphene 10H & N1 Graphene 10H & N1 PRO
Gloss Level 95% 100% 100% 100% 100%
Sleekness 95% 100% 100% 100% 100%
Water repellency  100% 100% 90% 90% 100%
Chemical resistance 70% 50% 90% 90% 90%
Scratch resistance 85% 100% 90% 100% 100%
Pollutant resistance 80% 100% 100% 100% 100%

We recommend that for the ultimate protection the Graphene 10H & N1 Pro not only provides the longest durability, the highest coating thickness, it also provides 100% protection against chemicals, UV rays, bird droppings, etc.
